FELDMAN LAUNCHES RE-ELECTION BID

Chair, Montgomery County House Delegation
Member, Economic Matters Committee
House Chair, Joint Information Technology & Biotechnology Committee
Chair, House Banking, Economic Development, Science & Technology Subcommittee

Dear Friend,

I am pleased to announce my decision to seek re-election to the Maryland General Assembly representing the 15th Legislative District.  I have had the honor and pleasure of serving in the House of Delegates for two terms and it has been a remarkably rewarding and fulfilling experience.  I am proud of the contributions I have made but there is still a great deal more that needs to be done to move our State forward.

As Chair of the Montgomery County House Delegation, I will continue to fight to ensure that our County gets its fair share of State resources during these difficult economic times.  In the recently completed legislative session, Montgomery County received a 10% increase in State funding over the prior year, a greater increase by far than any other County.  The County Delegation also defeated attempts to impose a $23 million penalty on the County in the education funding arena and to shift millions in teacher pension costs to our County.

As the Chair of two committees which focus on our State's technology sector, I have concentrated a great deal of my efforts on the passage of legislation which promotes the State's emerging biotechnology sector and helps make Maryland a national and international leader in this field.  Approximately 8% of the biotechnology companies in the Country are based in Maryland, while we make up only 2% of the nation's population.

I look forward to returning to Annapolis to build on these accomplishments.  If you want to learn more about my legislative work, please visit:  www.BrianJFeldman.com.

As I begin the process of knocking on doors throughout our community, I look forward to speaking with you individually and hearing your comments and concerns.  Meanwhile, if you wish to contact me directly, please email me at Delegate.Feldman@gmail.com.

Sincerely,
